Treking and nordic walking

Nanos hill is a very popular trekking destination, from where opens a spectacular view of the Postojna and Vipava valley, Trieste gulf, surrounding high peaks and all the way to the Julian alps. Also popular surrounding peaks are: Slavnik, Javornik, Baba, Sveta Trojica, Snežnik & Slavnik. Notranjska Hills is first of all appropriate for elder/moderate hikers as the ascents are not so difficult.

In the area of Javorniki & Snežnik forest are very popular nordic walking areas as the forest offers fresh air in the warm summer days. Hotel Sport is the last place on the Krpan’s trekking path, which is 91 km long. The average hiker goes through it in 3 days. The path is marked and is placed in a natural environment. A Major part of the path is also appropriate for nordic walking.

We also have to mention some very popular destinations in the Notranjska regional park: attractive Karst valley Rakov Škocjan and the biggest periodic lake in Slovenia – Cerknica Lake, which in every season appears as a different image.
